Boss x-series

August 12th

Platform Sales Australia are pleased to introduce the latest addition to their ever expanding range, the Boss X-Series push around scissor lifts from the UK based access equipment manufacturer Youngman.

The range consists of three different models, the X2,X3 and the tallest model the X3X which gives you a working height up to 5.2m.
The Boss X-Series uses a box section scissor arm design for better stability with a single mid-stack mounted lift cylinder. The machine incorporates an overload cut-out, tilt alarm cut-out and a platform descent interupt switch set at 1.85m, similar to that found on most self-propelled scissor lifts.

The new lifts have a good sized platform at 570mm x 1050mm for the X2 and X3 and a larger 570mm x 1250mm for the X3X which takes just 15 seconds to reach full height, the battery powered lifts have enough power in each charge to carry out at least 215 full lift cycles with 240kg platform load.
Already a success in the UK, London Tower Service director Paul Fairhall, said "The Youngman machines are really well built and therefore robust enough to cope with the rigors of the hire industry. We are also able to safely pressure wash them without causing any electrical problems because Youngman has ensured that its products are totally waterproof."
Ben Bowers of Lifterz added "We are experiencing near 100% utilisation on the X3's right now."

With auto braking on the fixed castors and locking brakes on the turning wheels as standard, this eliminates the possibilies of surfing the platform.
Other safety features include a tilt sensor, audible alarm on descent with a safety cut out at 1.85m.

The Boss X-Series comes with non marking castors and will easily fit through a standard door and fit into most passenger lifts. There are forklift points and a winching eye to make transport a breeze.

There are also a range of options which a Confined Space Guardrail, specially designed bumpers and a heavy-duty protective cover.

Zed 26J

August 2nd

Greenlite Electrical in Perth Western Australia have purchased CTE's newest truck mounted platform, the ZED 26J.

Greenlite Electrical chose the new ZED 26J platform because the sigma boom configuration with the top telescopic boom and fly-jib allows for greater flexibility when positioning the platform. The 26m working height is perfect for accessing lighting poles and the 230kg basket capacity is enough for two men with tools and equipment.
The platform is mounted to a Hino 10.2t chassis and there is plenty of spare capacity for toolboxes to carry all their tools.
The ZED 26J has 360 degree rotation and the basket has 65 degree left + 65 degree right rotation allowing the operator to position himself perfectly where he needs to be.
The performance of the platform is unmatched here in Australia. Having the sigma styled boom allows for maximum outreach of 14m just above ground level and with one button you can raise vertically with zero tailswing.

The platform has now been delivered so if you are on the streets of Perth, keep your eyes open for this new platform.

S-65 Trax

Hyatt Ground Engineering (specialist contractors in Geotechnical Engineering work in Australia and overseas) have just taken ownership of a new Genie S-65 TRAX self-propelled telescopic boom. These fixed-tracked models can be used anywhere a wheeled unit can- as well as on rough and challenging terrain conditions where a wheeled unit can't. The new boom combines proven Genie performance with reliable Loegering tracks in four-point design that provides outstanding traction while minimizing damage to sensitive surfaces. This systems steers like a wheeled machine for maneuvering close to walls. The tracks move in combination with an oscillating axle to conform to the contours of the landscape for a smooth ride. Plus, the soft rubber tracks put less contact pressure on the ground. These models are ideal in mud, sand, snow, soft soil and all kinds of rough terrain.
